
A fire broke out today above Bogovinsko Lake on the Sar Mountains; according to the authorities, the fire poses no threat to the local forests. The Regional Crisis Management Center (RCMC) – Tetovo reported that at 11:54 a.m. today, the Territorial Firefighting Unit (TPPE) – Tetovo reported a fire above Bogovinsko Lake on the Šar Mountains.
Upon receiving the report, RCMC – Tetovo notified the Public Enterprise “Sar Mountain National Park.” The National Park authorities stated that they were aware of the fire and that it was affecting pastures on inaccessible terrain along the border between Macedonia and Kosovo.
The National Park further reported that the fire would be monitored but that no intervention would be undertaken due to the inaccessibility of the terrain; they added that, based on the information received, the fire poses no threat to the forest resources.
