25 years since the killing of eight army reservists in an UCK ambush

Macedonia today marked 25 years since the killing of the eight army reservists force near the Ljubotenski Bacila, close to Skopje. The ambush by the UCK/NLA terrorist group, which planted a mine on the road used by the army, was one of the bloodiest attacks of the 2001 civil war.

Tome Badarovski, Goce Cankulovski, Branko Janev, Tomislav Nastevski, Marjanco Boskovski, Ivica Zlatevski, Tome Dimovski and Rade Jankovski are the names of the killed soldiers. On this day, tribute is also paid to Aco Angelovski, who died in Aracinovo in 2000 during an armed attack on a police patrol.

A delegation from the General Staff of the Army and the Ministry of Defense, led by the Chief of the General Staff, Major General Sasko Lafciski, laid flowers in memory of the killed reservists.
