Angelov: the water in Gostivar is safe to drink

Stojance Angelov, head of the DZS rescue bureau, announced that according to the latest analyses, the water in Gostivar is clean and safe to drink, and last night at midnight the thirty-day state of emergency on the territory of the municipality expired.

With the expiration of the state of emergency, central government institutions, including the Skopje water utility company, are withdrawing from water quality control. It is the turn of the local government, the local self-government to ensure that Gostivar residents continue to drink clean and safe water, Angelov emphasized. Gostivar suffered a massive water pollution issue after the local authorities inexplicably decided to pump untreated water into the city supply.
