Fight over long queues at the Gevgelija border crossing

An incident that escalated into a physical altercation occurred at the Gevgelija border crossing.

According to witnesses, the incident involved a Greek national and a Macedonian national, and the cause was a dispute over the order of vehicles in the queue. Prior to the physical confrontation, the driver of the Greek vehicle stepped out, stood in front of the car with Bitola license plates, and blocked it from moving forward. Other passengers quickly became involved in the commotion.

According to witnesses, the likely reason for the Greek driver’s actions was that the Macedonian vehicle had cut into the queue out of turn.
