Mickoski: Filipche’s dark rhetoric during a local election campaign shows that he has issues

The insults directed by Venko Filipche last night in Brvenica indicate that we are dealing with an individual who has lost his senses—someone who, tomorrow, might even sell out the nation’s interests. This was the sharp reaction this evening from the Prime Minister and President of VMRO-DPMNE, delivered at the final rally ahead of the local elections in Brvenica, which are set to take place this Sunday.

“The choice in these elections for Brvenica lies between a secure future for all citizens and a path that—regrettably—would lead to division within the municipality. Venko Filipche was here yesterday. They offered no program, no track record of achievements; instead, there were only insults, belittling remarks, and an arrogant attitude. They mentioned some sort of project, but aside from incoherent shouting, rambling speeches, and visibly frightened people on stage, we saw absolutely nothing else,” stated Mickoski.

The early mayoral elections are called after the Mayor elected in 2025 died. In his remarks, Filipche used dark rhetoric, including a reference to digging a grave, directed at Mickoski.

Mickoski asserted firmly that Filipche is capable of selling anything just to secure a position of power, emphasizing that for the opposition party SDSM, nothing is sacred.

“These are people who have proven themselves to be mere opportunists in politics—individuals who live off the people, rather than for the people. They even insulted our late Jovica Ilievski, who passed away far too soon. There are things that are sacred, and there are lines that simply must not be crossed.” “I have a lot to say and a lot to respond with regarding such inhumane behavior; however, as for the person who uttered all those insults—I only wish he could be at least half the man Joco was: strong, composed, and honorable—a man the likes of whom they could never even partially emulate. The insults he leveled reveal that we are dealing with an individual who has—sadly—lost his reason; someone who operates by manipulating base passions,” said Mickoski.

“He is a man who knows he will be held accountable for his actions during his time in the previous government, and that is why he is afraid,” he added.

“He is also a man who would turn his back on you and sell everything—even his own soul—just to secure a position of power. Since he is acting this way here in Brvenica, he will do the same tomorrow regarding our eastern neighbor, our national and state interests, and the honor of every one of you. Simply put, that is the nature of his mentor and his teachers. For these people, nothing is sacred—not even Brvenica,” Mickoski stated at the rally in Brvenica.
