An epidemic was declared in Gostivar, after the number of patients complaining about stomach issues after poisoning from the public water supply reached over 200 in the past 24 hours.
It’s assumed that the local water system workers hooked pumped untreated water directly from the Vardar river in order to keep pipe pressure high.
The Government today announced that it will deliver 50,000 liters of water every day through cistern trucks that will be deployed at a dozen locations in the city.
