Storm left Stip without potable water

The city of Stip has been left without drinking water since 14h on Sunday. The filtration station has been disconnected from the pipeline of the hydro system “Zletovica” due to the high turbidity of the water arriving from the Knezevo dam, informed the director of the local water utility company Aleksandar Arsovski at an urgent press conference.

The reason for the extremely high turbidity of the drinking water is last night’s storm that hit the Probishtip region, and the hydro system Zletovica is having difficulties in its operation and supplying raw water to all municipalities that use it – Arsovski said. “We are able to process turbid water with parameters of about 50 NTU, and we are currently receiving turbid water with over 400 NTU. The teams of Zletovtsi and PE Isar are working in coordination to overcome this problem with the water supply, and from you, the citizens, we ask for understanding and patience until this problem that arose as a result of a natural issue is overcome”.

Asked when the water supply to the city of Stip will be normalized, he replied that it is improper to make predictions at this time.
