While Filipce and SDSM are not eager for early elections, DUI jumped at the opportunity

SDSM will not give an alibi to the Government for early parliamentary elections – said SDSM leader Venko Filipce at a press conference today. With this, the opposition party rebuffed the offer from Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski, who said that the ruling majority is ready for early elections, possibly at the end of next year.

We will not be an alibi. Let the prime minister, who has a two-thirds majority, schedule elections. He can hold elections whenever he wants, said Filipce.

According to him, SDSM is preparing for elections every day, announcing that next month a “Master Plan for Macedonia” will be presented in several steps, so that citizens know what their promises are.

Meanwhile DUI, which is broadly tied with SDSM as the largest opposition party, said that it accepts early elections.
We ask for elections, said DUI, insisting that the ruling majority that includes their rival VLEN is unstable and “the country needs a new political mandate”. DUI insists that the preparations for early elections begin immediately.
