At a session held on October 22, the Criminal Council of the Supreme Court issued a ruling in case KVP2-36/26—known as the “Tetovo Modular Hospital” case—granting the requests for extraordinary review of the final judgment filed by the convicted individuals through their defense counsel.
The Court overturned the judgment of the Basic Court in Tetovo and the judgment of the Appellate Court in Gostivar from November 2025, remanding the case to the court of first instance for further proceedings and a new decision.
As announced by the Supreme Court today, the Court also issued a decision dismissing the request for extraordinary review filed by the accused legal entity—the Public Health Institution (PHI) Clinical Hospital Tetovo—deeming it inadmissible.
Fourteen people died in the fire at the modular hospital in Tetovo in 2021. The hospital was one of a dozen makeshift Covid wards put together by the Zaev regime under the mandate of his Healthcare Minister Venko Filipce. Construction safety regulations were lifted citing the urgency to add capacity to treat Covid patients.
