In the past period in ESM we are moving full steam ahead with construction of combined gas plants. This is our response to the need to do an energy transformation and gradually replace coal. I can announce that next week we will sign a contract with the World Bank, to fund the REK Bitola 1 gas plant, said Uzuncev. The funds will go toward a detailed feasibility study and a project for the plant.

As soon as that phase ends, we will have a public call in accordance with the strict World Bank rules, to find a contractor, said Uzuncev.

The plant would have installed capacity between 250 and 300 MW and is expected to be built by 2030-2031.
