The Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office in Skopje continues to gather evidence in the investigation into two robberies resulting in deaths of elderly persons, which took place in the Skopje neighborhoods of Chrom and Gjorche Petrov. Yesterday, a request was filed for a new, short-term detention period of 48 hours for the four suspects.
“Actions are being taken to collect evidence, and the public prosecutor will submit a proposal to the court today for a new 48-hour short-term detention,” the Prosecutor’s Office stated. Regarding the case, the Ministry of Interior announced on October 28 that four individuals had been taken into custody: A.S. (22), Kh.E. (20), and K.A. (58)—all from Skopje—along with M.R. (26) from Strumica. They are suspected of committing two counts of “robbery” resulting in death, which occurred on October 22 in Chrom and on October 27 in Gjorche Petrov.
At the time, the Ministry of Interior reported that the arrests were carried out in coordination with the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office in Skopje, following orders issued by the prosecution, with the aim of securing and compiling the evidentiary material for further legal proceedings.
