The Macedonian delegation participating in the United Nations General Assembly, led by Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski, attended the commemoration today marking the 25th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on New York on September 11, 2001.
As reported by the MIA special correspondent from New York, the commemoration was led by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and attended by representatives of U.S. allied nations—countries that, following the attacks, invoked the NATO collective defense clause in a show of solidarity with the United States.
“America remains the world’s greatest power. But America does not have to bear the burden alone. America’s allies stand with it. No one should doubt our resolve. That was the case 25 years ago, and it remains so today,” Rutte stated in his address at the memorial museum located where the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center once stood.
