VMRO calls out SDSM for spreading panic and undermining security

SDS persists in deliberately stoking hysteria, aiming to cause harm to the state and its citizens. Their behavior is unacceptable. While the state and relevant institutions are doing everything possible—taking all necessary measures—to protect the interests and funds of the citizens, SDS is doing everything it can to sabotage these efforts, said the VMRO-DPMNE party in a statement, following the latest accusations from SDSM about the stability of the banking system.

Following instances where they manufactured hysteria to incite fear, panic, and uncertainty among the public—such as the issues regarding drinking water in Skopje and Gostivar, the alleged collapse of the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund (PIOМ), and various other episodes—and now with the case involving Alta Bank, it is high time for SDS to realize the nature of their actions.
Furthermore, we call upon the Public Prosecutor’s Office to take action under Article 315 of the Criminal Code, concerning the crime of sabotage, which states:

“Whoever, in the performance of their professional duties, with the intent to endanger the constitutional order or the security of the Republic of Macedonia, causes significant damage—whether through covert, insidious, or other means—to a state body, institution, or legal entity where they are employed, or to any other state body, institution, or legal entity, shall be punished by imprisonment for a term of at least three years.” In the actions of SDS—specifically the holding of press conferences in front of vital state institutions, such as the National Bank—and in their daily accusations, we see grounds for this offense; they are acting knowingly and with intent to cause harm to a state body, a legal entity, and the depositors—that is, the citizens of Macedonia.
