The Gerresheimer company plans to make a new investment in Macedonia and increase its workforce from 300 to 500, announced Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski from Dusseldorf. He added that three additional new production facilities could open in December, employing over 1,000 people in well-paid positions.
“Throughout the day, we held meetings with a number of companies—some already present in the country and others looking to establish operations here. Of particular note was our meeting with Gerresheimer, a company that has already made two investments. Their total investment value stands at approximately 120 million euros, with a workforce of around 300. More importantly, however, they have ambitious plans for a new, additional investment spanning 100,000 square meters. This will increase their headcount to 500 and effectively triple their business turnover in the country, thereby making a positive contribution and adding value to Macedonia’s GDP.” “I would also like to announce that, provided everything goes according to plan, three new production facilities will be established in December. Once they reach full operational capacity—at the peak of the investment—they will create over 1,000 jobs; and, more importantly, these will be well-paid positions,” stated Mickoski.
He assessed today as an exceptionally successful day, which began with a bilateral meeting with the Minister-President of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia—essentially the wealthiest state in the Federal Republic of Germany.
“We had a truly useful and productive meeting, during which we highlighted our strong bilateral relations. It is worth noting that, among the six countries of the Western Balkans, Macedonia is the only one to have signed an agreement for this type of bilateral and economic cooperation. North Rhine-Westphalia is roughly ten times larger than Macedonia, with a population of about 18 million. Following the elections here in North Rhine-Westphalia—expected to take place in April next year—I have invited the Minister-President to visit Macedonia so that we may discuss even more substantive and deeper cooperation between our country and North Rhine-Westphalia,” emphasized Prime Minister Mickoski, pointed out Mickoski.
