Mobile and electronic banking services at Alta Bank Bitola are operational again, though with limited capabilities for users. For the time being, clients can check and monitor their account balances, while other banking functions remain unavailable. Citizen depositors are allowed to withdraw 15,000 denars a week, while companies are blocked from managing their funds.
The troubled bank states that it is working intensively on the gradual restoration of all services, with the goal of fully restoring the functionality of its digital banking channels. “At this stage, mobile and electronic banking allow for the viewing and monitoring of account balances, while other functions are not yet available,” the statement from Alta Bank reads.
The bank has not yet specified when full functionality will be restored, but has announced that clients will be promptly informed of any further improvements. It was placed under management by the Central Bank, after the owner of its mother-bank in Serbia was arrested after the fall of the Vucic government.
