All procurement activities at EVN Macedonia are conducted through a clearly defined process, in compliance with legal procedures and specific technical criteria, the company stated regarding the latest contract for the procurement of electricity meters.
This same practice was applied to the meter procurement process, where—in addition to legal regulations—criteria regarding technical and professional capability and compliance with technical specifications were consistently applied, alongside checks for any grounds to exclude bidders from the process, EVN Macedonia noted.
The company added that, based on these checks, the selection of the bidder was made in strict adherence to established criteria and regulations. EVN emphasized that the choice of bidder resulted solely from the conducted process and the fulfillment of pre-established criteria and requirements, leaving no room for political or other interpretations regarding the selection.
EVN links this procurement to a broader investment cycle aimed at modernizing the electricity distribution network and improving services. According to the company, this process involves several activities, including the remote control of substations, the upgrading of management software solutions, and the replacement of electricity meters. The replacement of meters is part of the process of fully aligning the distribution system with European Union standards; this process has been intensively underway for years and will continue in the period ahead, EVN adds.
