Denmark beat Macedonia 36:24 at the opening of the European Handball Championship. The home team, supported by 15,000 fans, is seen as one of the leading contenders for the gold, and was a strong favorite in the match.
Macedonia was able to be an even contender for much of the game, but could not respond in full to the Danes and their fast pace. Goal keeper Tomovski and young player Galevski were the best performers in the Macedonian team, who will now prepare to face Portugal on Tuesday.
