An SDSM activist from Novo Selo near Strumica, who the party claimed was attacked by VMRO activists, today acknowledged that he has a long criminal record. The alleged incident happened during a visit by Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski to Novo Selo, as part of a new practice by SDSM to have activists shout or otherwise create tensions during visits by the Prime Minister.
SDSM leader Venko Filipce went to Novo Selo and claimed that a group of SDSM activists, who he called “children”, were attacked without provocation. VMRO later reporeted that the group is well known in the region as the local drug smugglers with close ties to the Zaev clan in Strumica.
Hristijan Eftimov, one of the SDSM activists, today held a press conference to accuse VMRO of publishing confidential police reports, with that acknowledging that the content is true. “The person who Filipce refered to as ‘a child’ publicly acknowledged that he is a violent criminal and a convict. These are individuals who were given suspended sentences for violence and for crimes linked to drug possession and use of narcotics. This is another confirmation that SDSM are the dregs of Macedonia”, VMRO said in a statement.
