Minister of Interior Panche Toskovski spoke today at the 75th dialogue session of the National Convention on the European Union in the country (NCEU-MK), emphasizing that, rather than mere declarations of intent, genuine and concrete action is required to implement European values and standards.
Addressing the ambassadors, European representatives, and experts present, Toshkovski noted that the time has come for Macedonia to demonstrate its commitment to the European integration path through concrete results and projects. He stressed that every institution, organization, and individual must set a personal example in this process. “I believe it is high time for us in Macedonia—beyond merely stating our commitment to the path of European integration, our desire to be part of the European family, and our talk of European values—to actually start working on those European values,” said Toskovski in his address at the session dedicated to the topic “The Contribution of Structured Dialogue to the European Integration Process of the Republic of Macedonia: From the ‘Foundations’ and Beyond.”
He added that it is essential for everyone, regardless of their field of activity, to demonstrate through concrete results and personal example that they uphold those European values.
“Let us demonstrate this through concrete results, concrete projects, and concrete actions; let us show it through personal example—within the institutions where we work, within the non-governmental organizations we belong to, within the public prosecutor’s office, the judiciary, the municipalities, and indeed within every single institution,” Toskovski urged.
