Nikoloski: Macedonia is investing between 5 and 6 billion EUR in key infrastructure projects

Macedonia is investing between 5 and 6 billion euros in infrastructure improvements specifically along Corridors 8 and 10, said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Aleksandar Nikoloski. As he noted in an interview with the regional network ERNO, the country holds a unique position—as these corridors intersect right here—which it must leverage to remain a competitive transit route.

“Two Pan-European corridors pass through Macedonia: Corridor 8 (East-West) and Corridor 10 (North-South). We are the only country in Southeast Europe where these two Pan-European corridors intersect. We are striving to capitalize on this unique geographical position, which is why we are making massive investments—ranging between 5 and 6 billion euros. When compared to our Gross Domestic Product, these are enormous investments—a scale unmatched by any other country in the region. That is why we are leading the way; our efforts in infrastructure have been commended by the European Commission, the European Investment Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and our other partners,” stated Nikoloski.
