I am following the theatrics the opposition is engaging in. I believe they are the only ones unhappy during this period, given that the 35th-anniversary celebration—which lasted over a month—went truly wonderfully. There were many happy and satisfied citizens. By all estimates, considering every event, the celebration reached more than 200,000 citizens. What I can say is that those who are now despairing used to funnel money into the private pockets of Prparim and others back in the day,” Mickoski pointed out.
The Prime Minister stated that this Government is returning funds—specifically those from the State Lottery reserves—back to the people, to culture, and to artists; this, he emphasized, is how this Government operates, and he reiterated that they would continue to do the same in the years to come. “There is a difference; we are not the same—on that point, I agree with the opposition. The SDSM and DUI government used to funnel the State Lottery’s reserves and profits—mostly through dubious procurement deals—into the private pockets of a few high-ranking officials, a matter that is currently the subject of court proceedings,” the Prime Minister said.
He announced that the current government would organize such events annually—as it values them—and would also support other cultural and sports initiatives.
“We believe this should be the role of a socially responsible company like the State Lottery, and indeed, this is regulated by the new Law on Games of Chance. So, let us prepare for many more wonderful moments, for many happy and satisfied people, and—most importantly—for an advanced and prosperous Macedonia,” Mickoski said.
