Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski shared a video to honor the 35th anniversary of the Macedonian independence. The video, which features successes in sports and arts achieved during the independent years, never the less prompted an angry reaction from SDSM leader Venko Filipce.
Filipce made objections why the video that focused on non-divisive moments and the declaration of independence, did not include former Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski, or the NATO membership and what he called “the opening of accession talks with the EU”.
The unprovoked negative tone of his statement on an issue that did not contain any criticism of SDSM, prompted criticism from citizens on the social media.
I’m sorry you did not catch the point of the video. I don’t know who your admin is, but he is failing at his job, one of the kinder comments read.
SDSM had adopted a posture of aggressive criticism in the past months which has been poorly received in the public.
