A government delegation from Macedonia, led by Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski, attended the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York today.
“A place where world leaders meet and important issues regarding peace, security, development, and the future of international cooperation are raised,” Prime Minister Mickoski wrote on his Facebook profile, sharing photos from today’s session where world leaders delivered their addresses.
The Prime Minister is holding meetings with a number of US and world officials, businessmen and think tank representatives, and in his remarks at the Concordia Summit he expressed his view about the US – Macedonian relations.
in the next days New York is the center of the world. At the beginning of the year we had a session of the strategic dialogue, both countries, and we signed a lot of agreements, a lot of memorandums of understanding. We increased the level of cooperation between the two countries. with cooperation in the military industry, energy, mining of one critical mineral antimony with the help of DFC. So I think that the relations between both countries are deeper and deeper as time goes by. Bearing in mind institutional memory, we are voting in the United Nations next to our allies, the United States, so we would like to be and our ambition is to become a showcase for the United States. And we very much welcome the United States footprint in the region. So let my country be the showcase for the region and for Europe on behalf of the United States, the Prime Minister said.
