Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said that he expects to see clarification on a number of cases involved with the work of the office of state prosecutors, now that a new chief prosecutor is in place. According to the Prime Minister, these include the dubious way in which special prosecutor Katica Janeva handed over her politically motivated cases to other prosecutors even after she was imprisoned for extortion, the abuse of witnesses in the April 27th trial and the Tetovo hospital fire.
The Macedonian public and the citizens deserve to know, because they were paying for the enormous bonuses for the SPO prosecutors, while they were engaged in extortion using Louis Vuitton bags. In the April 27th case, we must know if there were so-called protected witnesses who were forced by certain individuals to give statements. We must know that if we want to move forward, said the Prime Minister.
Additional cases that Mickoski said he would want to see investigated are the allegations that politicians were setting up energy trading companies that were bribing politicians. In both this and the Tetovo hospital fire investigation, Mickoski strongly alluded to SDSM leader Venko Filipce, who was Healthcare Minister during the fire and was reportedly given a luxury vehicle by an energy company linked to the Zaev family.
