The bust of Vera Jocic, socialist partisan fighter, was stolen from the Skopje city park.
Jocic was killed as a young partisan fighting the Bulgarian forces near the end of the war in the village of Stracin. Her death was marked by a poem written by Aco Sopov, who fought with her.
It’s assumed that the bust is melted down by scrap sellers.
