VMRO-DPMNE Vice President and Foreign Minister Timco Mucunski held a press conference in the party offices today in which he declared that the party will score a major victory in the local elections.
Today Macedonia held calm and successful elections that meet the highest democratic criteria. This may have been the most presentable and calmest elections in our recent history, and this is all due to the citizens of the Republic of Macedonia. We are on the verge of a large victory for VMRO-DPMNE and our coalition. We will win in most municipalities in the country, Mucunski said.
Throughout the campaign, polls showed that VMRO dominates its chief opponents, SDSM and Levica, while race among the ethnic Albanian parties is expected to be more even.
