The Healthcare Ministry announced that the methodology used to set prices of medicine in the public healthcare system will reduce the cost for 300 drugs.
Minister Azir Aliu said that the price reductions will cover 156 brand name drugs, 174 generic drugs and 13 drugs that are in the emergency import category. New prices go into effect on May 1st. Among the drugs is the heart drug xarelto, whose price will be cut from 2,300 to 1,600 denars.
