Charlie Kirk, a leading American right wing activist, was shot and killed today. Kirk was shot by an assassin, presumably a leftist, who killed Kirk while he was debating students in the grounds of a Utah university, in one of his trademark events.
Hundreds of students were seen running from the university grounds after the rifle shot rang out and Kirk fell. Hours later, President Trump personally broke the news that his great supporter and friend was killed.
The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead. No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!, Trump posted on Truth Social, before announcing that he’s ordering flags across the country to be flown at half mast. Kirk left behind his wife and two young children.
Kirk (31) led Turning Point USA, a youth oriented conservative organization that has been the intellectual home of many young activists. He was known for the live debates, in which he would have both supporters and strong opponents debate him. His debates were recently mocked by the South Park animated series, but Kirk endorsed the joke and even shared it on his social media.
The attack, which strongly resembles the assassination attempt on President Trump during the election campaign, comes as the US public was already emotional and politically divided after the publication of the gruesome video of the murder of a young Ukrainian refugee by a deranged African American man.
