During his meeting with Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto today, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said that the entire region has turned to Serbia to seek wheat and corn.

In a day we received orders that amount to a quarter of our total reserves. We can’t meet them logistically. Prices are going sky high. When the Government determines that we are secure, then we will allow exports. But we will have to make new estimates each day, whether we have enough for us and also for the people in the region, Vucic said.

He announced that Serbia will ban export of grain. In previous announcements, Vucic said that neighboring countries, including Macedonia, will be exempt from the ban, but this now looks unlikely. Hungary also banned grain exports.
