August 18 – Army Day is being observed Sunday by Defence Ministry and General Staff employees, as well as commands and units in the barracks throughout the country.
The observance includes laying flowers on the memorial of the killed Army members, promotions, presentation of plaques, badges and certificates to Army members.
Deputy PM and Defence Minister Radmila Sekerinska, Chief of General Staff of Army, Gen. Vasko Gjurcinovski, Deputy Defence Minister Bekim Maksuti, Deputy-Chief of Staff, Maj. Gen. Azim Nuredin, Defence Ministry State Secretary Dragan Nikolic, the NATO Liaison Office in Skopje, military attaches accredited to the Republic of Macedonia attend the observance ceremony.
The central ceremony to mark Army Day takes place at the Water Training Center in Ohrid, and will be attended by the highest military and state officials, and will be addressed by the President of the Republic of Macedonia and the Commander-in-Chief of the Army, Stevo Pendarovski and the Minister of Defense Radmila Sekerinska.
