The proposal of the 28-year-old TV presenter, Besmira Ejupi, to be the new Consul General in New York, US, has been withdrawn, Telma reported. The proposal for Ejupi to represent the country as Consul General in the United States was withdrawn at today’s closed session of the government.

Two days ago, at a closed government session it accepted the proposal of Foreign Minister for Ejupi to be Consul General in New York, almost without any remarks. The information sparked public reaction, given that the Law on Foreign Affairs stipulates that if the candidate for Consul General does not come from the professional diplomatic ranks at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he should be an affirmed person in the field of foreign policy and international relations.
