VMRO-DPMNE Vice President Aleksandar Nikoloski informed the public that a company owned by the son of controversial Bosnian Serb leader Milorad Dodik was given the contract to procure 1,500 computers for the Macedonian Interior Ministry. Given Dodik’s open pro-Russian leanings, Nikoloski warns that this will risk causing a major security breach in the newest NATO member state.

One one hand their mouths are full of NATO, EU, they talk about their pro-Western orientation, and then they go into business with people who are against it all. The public knows well that Dodik is on the US black list, and that companies linked to his son are also on the black list. And yet, in January, the Interior Ministry gave them a contract worth a million EUR. With this, we let them directly into our security system, Nikoloski said.

This is the third contract given to Dodik’s company by the Interior Ministry, the Finance Ministry and the MARnet company that maintains Macedonia’s internet network.
