Customs officials from the Ohrid and Skopje Airport customs offices thwarted an attempt to smuggle 84 Casio watches and 7,560 pieces of jewelry. The discovery occurred during inspections at the Ohrid customs office when a vehicle registered for import clearance was examined. While the import declaration mentioned 66 Casio wristwatches, an additional 84 watches of the same brand were found, exceeding the declared amount.
Additionally, a Turkish citizen arriving from Istanbul had undeclared jewelry—7,560 earrings and 7 kilograms of zircons—in their travel bags. The undisclosed items were confiscated, and legal actions were initiated against the involved parties.
