Danela Arsovska is subjected to sneaky and vile attacks because she is everything that Zoran Zaev and Petre Silegov aren’t in politics. They are trying to kill the breath of fresh air in the sea of lies, frauds and manipulations, said VMRO-DPMNE President Hristijan Mickoski at the large rally in downtown Skopje this evening. Arsovska was subjected to SDSM allegations that she is a “Bulgarian agent” in a last ditch attempt to derail her successful campaign for Mayor of Skopje.

These attacks come from people who were beggars when they entered politics and now are millionaires. They dishonestly made money on the backs of everybody, and now they attack the one healthy node that stood up to resist them. But Danela’s strength comes from Silegov’s and Zaev’s immorality and dishonesty, Mickoski said.

Mickoski pointed to the fact that the opposition already secured the Skopje Concil and most of the key municipalities in the city, and finalized an agreement with Levica, completing the unification of the opposition. “We are creating an opposition bloc that will defeat Zaev”, Mickoski said.

Following the string of defeats in the first round of the local elections, Zaev said that he will resign as Prime Minister if Arsovska beats Silegov in Skopje. If his hope was to energize the soft SDSM supporters, it seems that it did more to mobilize the opposition and lead to the agreement with Levica. This led to the all out attack on Arsovska of the past few days.
