Agum Nuhiu, the Deputy Minister of Justice, issued a statement on Facebook claiming that he was distancing himself from the list of pardons of convicts signed by his Minister Bojan Maricic, which should be sent to President Stevo Pendarovski.
There are 48 people on the Ministry of Justice’s list for pardon from serving part of the prison sentence or for full pardon as a proposal to the President. Among the names are the businessman Seat Kocan, Aleksandar Vasilevski-Ninja, the controversial prosecution witness for the events of April 27, 2017, Boban Ilic, convicted for the murder of 4-year-old Almir in Kumanovo…
I did not agree with the Deputy Minister of Justice over the proposals for pardon of some prisoners, and of course I reacted institutionally! The proposals to the Prison Administration for pardoning certain prisoners who with their criminal acts disturbed citizens and demolished the foundations of the state, will never receive my support and should not have the support of the Ministry of Justice either. We will never be silent about the cause of justice!, wrote the deputy minister who comes from the ranks of DUI.
