Bujar Osmani, the foreign minister and OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, hosted the casual dinner for foreign ministers attending the 30th Ministerial Council of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe on Wednesday night in Skopje. The military assault against Ukraine and the necessity of a functional Organization in a time of conflicts and heightened tensions are the subjects that the participating OSCE delegations and partner nations will be discussing during the dinner.The foreign ministers of the United States, the European Union, Great Britain, and OSCE partner nations from the Mediterranean, Middle East, and Asia are present at the event.

Following dinner, the guests are expected to enjoy a cultural program with performances by Damir Imeri, Teodosij Spasov, and Vlatko Stefanovski.76 delegations from 57 OSCE participating nations and partner countries are anticipated to attend the largest political and diplomatic gathering to be held in Macedonia since its independence.

The delegates are anticipated to make a decision regarding the 2024 Chairpersonship at the Council. During a preparatory conference last week in Vienna, the ambassadors of the 57 participating countries came to the consensus that Malta should be the next nation to assume this responsibility. The OSCE’s organs also need to make decisions about the funding and staffing of important posts.
