The Ibis Styles hotel, which was the original site of the Sistina clinic owned by businessman Jordan Orce Kamcev, could be transformed into a new infectious diseases clinic.

This is one of the ideas floated during the meeting yesterday between Healthcare Minister Venko Filipce and the owners of the three main private clinics in Skopje – Acibadem Sistina, Zan Mitrev and Remedika. Kamcev has offered the hotel for accommodation of travelers who were returning to Macedonia and needed to go into quarantine, and offered to provide it for a 100 bed hospital. Plans are being drawn out to install oxygen links and other necessities and staff it with doctors and nurses from the three private clinics, depending on their resources.

Under the recently declared state of crisis, the Government has the right to “manage” private medical resources.
