Macedonia admitted 14 additional Afghan refugees, in this case former UN employees and their family members, who fear for their lives after the defeat of the NATO led forces and the Afghan Government.
The group, like others before them, are housed in hotels near Skopje. There are currently 568 Afghan refugees who await asylum in other countries – so far 85 left for France, Greece, Ireland, Portugal, Brazil and the US.
