The historic committee between Macedonia and Bulgaria begins a new round of meetings today. Main topic of discussion should be the legacy of the medieval Tsar Samuil, who is claimed by both countries.

Bulgaria wants the Macedonian historical narrative to be changed and to have the ruler portrayed as an exclusively Bulgarian king.
The Kovacevski Government is pushing the Macedonian members of the committee to accept Bulgarian demands. Two were recently replaced or resigned and the head o the Macedonian team is openly moving in the direction of the Bulgarian narrative in his public statements.
