Macedonian-Bulgarian joint expert committee will meet in Sofia Thursday and Friday to discuss the recommendations to the two governments about the classical period in fifth-grade textbooks in Bulgaria and sixth-grade textbooks in the Macedonian educational system, and the joint celebration of Goce Delcev.
This is the fourth meeting of the Committee this year, with two more to be held by the end of the year.
After the meetings so far, recommendations have been issued to the two countries’ governments regarding the joint commemoration of St. Cyril and Methodius, St. Clement, St. Naum and Tsar Samuil, as well as recommendations for improving sixth-grade history textbooks in the Republic of Macedonia and fifth-grade in the Republic of Bulgaria referring to the classical period.
The recommendations to the two governments for the classical period for fifth-grade textbooks in the Bulgarian education system and for the sixth-grade textbooks in the Macedonian education system were adopted at the last meeting, held in early June in Skopje.
