In an Alfa TV interview, VMRO-DPMNE President Hristijan Mickoski said that the party is working with suppliers of electric buses to get them to open a plant in Macedonia. Mayor Danela Arsovska, who was elected with VMRO help, is looking to purchase 100 to 150 electric buses out of a total 250 planned new buses, and is pushing that a new plant is part of the purchase.

Opening such a factory in Macedonia would put the country on the map of high tech manufactures, would lead to 500 jobs and be a strategic investment for Macedonia, Mickoski said.

He respoded to criticism that this push was met with from the ruling SDSM party. “It would be better if they tried to help us, instead of attacking us”.
