The Healthcare Ministry approved contracts for elevator installation and maintenance to a company from Skpje that does not exist. The Anti-Corruption Commission (DKSK) said that 90 such contracts were given to the company from public institutions between 2018 and 2020 and that it is investigating a case of serious fraud, with all details being forwarded to prosecutors.
According to DKSK officials, the company faked its founding documents, and its ISO certificates. “Imagine the danger, when an uncertified company was handling elevators in public institutions and in residential buildings. Lives were at stake”, said Sofija Pejovska – Dojcinovska from DKSK.
A Croatian company tasked with providing ISO certificates confirmed that the documents the bogus company submitted were fake.
