VMRO-DPMNE’s presidential candidate Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova commented on the statement made by Foreign Minister Nikola Dimitrov that nowadays the main topic of this election should be the future, not the past: “Elections will be a choice between hope and fear.” On Monday evening “Samo vistina” show Siljanovska – Davkova without reservations denies that she is perceived as an embodiment of the fear of the past if this statement by Dimitrov is addressed to the candidate of VMRO-DPMNE.

No. On the contrary, I think that of Nikola Dimitrov. He was a part of VMRO-DPMNE and a deputy minister for decades. He was our name negotiator. We remember what he said in 2011 at The Hague. So, it is him that has fear and hope, like the two-faced Janus. I’m not related to that. I have not been involved in politics since 1994, but what is happening in the political system, the constitutional law is my vocation, my life, my profession, and not only because I know comparatively how happens what is happening in the world, the weaknesses, the advantages, I know the situation in the Republic of Macedonia and I do not think that hope does not exist. There is no greater hope than the rule of law. Only that hope is a European hope. Everything else is mimicry and chameleonism. A country where the law is not respected cannot join the EU, said Siljanovska – Davkova.

The Constitutional Law professor emphasized that the way the Constitution was changed, the way the Criminal Code was changed, the amnesty, the manner in which the referendum took place, what is happening these days with the detentions, the employment … – has nothing in common with the Copenhagen criteria.

It’s typical of homo balcanicus, not of homo europicus, she said.
