The Ski Macedonia association, which promotes winter sports and ski centers in the country, called on the Government to allow the ski centers to open and to exempt them from the current coronavirus restrictions.
The state of the equipment in our centers is such that, unfortunately, even if you don’t want to, you have to socially distance. The gondolas have single seat chairs, and every other one is defective. It’s not like we have six seater gondolas, the association said in a testy statement, insisting that skiing is fundamentally safe and will allow citizens to spend time in the fresh air, while keeping the restaurants and cafes on the slopes closed.
The association asks the Government how is it possible to allow casinos to operate, but to keep the ban on ski centers in place.
