VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski claims that the planned 2020 census is part of a plan to redefine Macedonia, forged between Zoran Zaev and DUI leader Ali Ahmeti between the two rounds of the presidential elections.

The Government wants to use the census to give a mathematical backing to its political agreement which turns Macedonia into a country with a different political order. VMRO-DPMNE will not allow that, Mickoski said, warning that he will call for a boycott unless European standards are applied in the census.

Mickoski said that it is against Eurostat rules to count all bearers of identity numbers issued by the state in the census, even in cases of people who have moved out of the country decades ago.
