Prime Minister Dimitar Kovacevski is scheduled to convene a leadership meeting with the presidents of parliamentary political parties tomorrow at noon in the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia. The meeting is set to take place in the Crystal Hall of the Assembly at 12 o’clock.

The specific agenda for the meeting remains unclear, particularly regarding European integration. While Kovacevski indicated it as a discussion point, it wasn’t included in the agenda proposed by the opposition VMRO-DPMNE.

Kovacevski listed European integration, regular elections, and Electoral Code amendments per OSCE/ODIHR recommendations as topics for discussion. Conversely, VMRO-DPMNE expressed acceptance of the meeting but aimed to focus on finalizing election dates, acknowledging OSCE/ODIHR observations, and proposing to disband the technical government in exchange for preventing a DUI-led prime minister.

Kovacevski emphasized that a successful meeting entails respectful dialogue without political parties resorting to blackmail tactics against each other. The final word on the date of holding the parliamentary and presidential elections, as Kovacevski said, should be given by the parties, but according to the calendar, the greatest opportunity for such a thing is in the month of May, reminding that next year will be the first regular parliamentary elections in our country after 2006.
