On Friday evening, the opposition coalition of ethnic Albanian parties, known as the European Alliance for Change, issued an ultimatum to the Government. They reiterated their demand for representation within the State Election Commission (SEC) and set a deadline of December 31. Should their demand not be met, they declared their intention to exit Parliament and initiate a boycott.
Afrim Gashi, leader of Alternativa, emphasized this stance during a media briefing alongside Democratic Movement’s Izet Mexhiti and Besa Movement’s Bilall Kasami.
Gashi highlighted their determination by stating that besides the parliamentary boycott, additional measures would be taken to address the issue. He expressed confidence that this action would alert both the international community and the ruling parties about their unwavering commitment to their lawful right of SEC representation.
