The security measures in place around the “Boris Trajkovski” arena ahead of the OSCE Summit have reached unprecedented levels. This summit stands as the most significant political event in Macedonia’s recent history. Prior to this, the largest-scale event was from the realm of sports, notably when the Super Cup was hosted in Skopje. The entire hall is surrounded by barricades like those used in protests, and police teams are stationed at the intersections. Every vehicle and bus before the entrance is checked with a metal and explosive detector and no one who is not accredited can enter. The OSCE itself starts tonight with a formal dinner for the guests and the main debate is tomorrow.
