VMRO-DPMNE members of Parliament will submit their proposal for a vote of no confidence in Interior Minister Oliver Spasovski on Monday.
According to the opposition party, Spasovski is guilty of recruiting the police to serve his SDSM party, and to take party in political persecution of opposition officials and activists. This includes the recent siege of the main VMRO-DPMNE office in Skopje, as well as the dozens of arrests, home raids and daily abuse and harassment.
– Every day the citizens can witness new scandals related to the work of the Interior Minister. Instead of concerning himself with the law and order, and guaranteeing the security of all citizens, the main task of the Interior Ministry is to cover up crimes and murders. The Interior Ministry is engaged in racketeering, bribery and protection of criminals, said Nikola Micevski, head of the VMRO-DPMNE group in Parliament.
Spasovski’s latest move is to return two UBK secret service officers who were charged with abusing the wiretapping systems to record conversations of Government officials and help SDSM take over the Government back to the secret police.
Unable to list all the failures of the Interior Ministry in a press release, VMRO-DPMNE recently released a short video containing many of the unresolved murder cases and examples of abuse of the police for political purposes.
