The Customs Office has been hiring a massive new 160 employees over the past three months, in what political observers wryly comment could only mean that early elections are around the corner and the Government needs to provide its clients with jobs.

Despite the frequent complaints which the now ruling SDSM party made while they were in the opposition, that the public sector is overstaffed, the party is now busy employing its loyalists. The most recent open ad is for 58 new customs officials, in positions which are usually associated with big salaries but also with a long tradition of corruption.
